Earlier this year SCA (strong Customer Authentication) was introduced by banks to make online banking even more secure.
This means when you shop online and go to complete a transaction you may need to authorise the transaction using an SCA compliant method. For most people this will mean receiving a push notification to your registered mobile phone to approve the transaction.
To be able to shop online you need to:
1. Ensure your bank has the correct mobile number for you. You can call the bank on their number that is on the back of your credit or debit card.
2. Have you downloaded your banks app? You can do this by going to the App Store/ Play store.
If you don't receive a push notification this may be because
- you have notifications turned off
- you are not using your primary security device
